El Centro de Arte Canario, is situated more or less opposite La Casa de los Coroneles (Colonels House) and remains a place to be discovered in La Oliva. Also known as ‘Casa Mane’ for it was Manuel Delgado Camino who is the owner and founder of this space full of art, an enthusiastic promoter of new projects to disseminate the creative activity of many artists on both sides of Atlantic.

Situated in northern Fuerteventura the Mane House is a restored and spacious building from the mid-century, bordered by an exotic garden full of surprises and sculptures that was unveiled in 1991. In the words of the catalog is a ” A container and contents of the most representative contemporary Canarian art.” Relevant companies and creators in the visual arts come together in a large space, with time to talk to each other.

In these halls they have hung work of arts from artists such as Pepe Dámaso, César Manrique, Pedro González, Lola Massieu, Juan Gopar, García Alvárez, Tońo Cámara, Félix Juan Bordes and Gabriel Ortuńo, among others. Crossing the threshold of the Canary Islands Art Center of Oliva, “Casa Mane” the visitor discovers a place full of surprises. An eighteenth century mansion converted into the only permanent art gallery of Fuerteventura. A place that is part of the history of the island. Just a few metres from the Colonels House (La Casa de los Coroneles) this place has been a refuge for some of the most prestigious personalities.

A house that Manuel Delgado, “Mane” art lover purchased with a dream: Bringing Fuerteventura part of his collection. Ten years later, Casa Mane is a must-see for anyone who passes by La Oliva. Tourists walk between sculptures and paintings of the most important artists of the Canarian scene.

And no wonder, this gallery is designed so that each picture can be seen in hundreds of different ways. A place designed for the dissemination of art in which the visitor is impregnated with the most valuable paintings, sculptures and ceramics created entirely in the archipelago.
